Grow Long Eyelashes With LatisseAre you tired of fussing with skin-pinching eyelash curlers, underperforming mascara and finicky falsies? Framing your eyes with long, luscious lashes is a great way to get attention and boost confidence, but battling thinning lashes can be exhausting. Luckily, there’s a tried and true, FDA-approved way to help grow long eyelashes, and it’s called Latisse®.

What Is Latisse?

Latisse is a prescription product used to help patients with hypotrichosis (inadequate lashes) grow fuller, thicker, darker lashes. The solution is applied every night to the clean, makeup-free skin at the base of the lashes on the upper eyelid. Each single-use applicator is disposable for the ultimate in safety and hygiene, and excess fluid is carefully dabbed away. Contact lenses can be put back in place just 15 minutes later.

More than four million bottles of Latisse have been purchased since it was approved by the FDA in 2008, resulting in hundreds of thousands of people who are seeing firsthand what a difference this revolutionary product can make.

How Does Latisse Work?

Latisse was actually discovered by a lucky accident. The key ingredient, bimatoprost, was being used in a medicated eye drop intended to treat elevated intraocular pressure. The patients soon noticed a surprising side effect — longer, lusher lashes. After extensive studies, bimatoprost was repurposed and approved as the newly formulated Latisse.

Latisse boosts your eyelashes’ anagen phase — otherwise known as the growth cycle. By both lengthening the anagen phase and stimulating the number of hairs growing during that phase, Latisse can help produce dramatic results.

The Lowdown on Latisse Results

Unlike over-the-counter lash-building products that promise big results and rarely, if ever, deliver, Latisse was the subject of a clinical study that proved its efficacy and safety. In fact, more than 78 percent of study participants said that Latisse worked, specifically showing a 25 percent increase in lash length, a whopping 106 percent jump in overall lash thickness and fullness, and lashes that appeared to be 18 percent darker. By contrast, participants in the control group (who were using a similar product that lacked the active ingredient present in Latisse) found a mere 18 percent improvement to their thinning lashes.
